Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Elizabeth City rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Elizabeth City area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Discounts Avail. Cozy 2 LVNG RM, Baths, Patios. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
