Strategies to get the best Elizabeth City rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Elizabeth City area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Elizabeth City attractions and restaurants.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Elizabeth City area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Elizabeth City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental:

  • Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Savor the Sweetness of Sugar Pea! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Elizabeth City rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
